Vees Drop Weekend Games

The Penticton Vees dropped a pair of weekend games, but will look to bounce back tomorrow night.

FRIDAY – Brandon 7, Penticton 4.

-Over 3200 were in attendance Friday night, as the Vees paid tribute, in a very classy way, to the late Murray Maxwell. ‘Murr’ would have loved the back and forth play of this game, but, the Wheat Kings skated away with a 7-4 victory. The ‘Wheaties’ jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but, Penticton rallied to come back and take the lead at 3-2 before a trio of Brandon goals would seal the victory. Nate Pederson, Noel Pakarinen, Jackson Schneider and Graham Jones tallied in a losing cause.

SATURDAY – Tri-City 5, Penticton 2.

-Just like the night before on home ice, the opponents jumped to a 2-0 lead before a Penticton comeback. Gavin Katz and Tyler Deakos would bring the Vees back to even at 2, but, then the Americans pulled away with 3 straight goals, and the 5-2 win.

TOMORROW – Portland at Penticton

-Your Vees will look to end a 3 game losing streak tomorrow night as the Portland Winterhawks will be in town for a 6:30 puck-drop. See you all there!
