Vees & Rockets Split Weekend

The Penticton Vees split another weekend pair of games, this time with the Kelowna Rockets.

FRIDAY – Penticton 4, Kelowna 2.

-Just over 4,000 cheering fans were in attendance for the home opener, and the unveiling of a brand new, state-of-the-art scoreclock too. All that resulted in a home opening 4-2 win over our Okanagan rivals, the Kelowna Rockets! Gavin Katz paced the way for the Vees with 2 goals and an assist. Roberts Naudins and Noel Pakarinen rounded out the scoring for Penticton.

SATURDAY – Kelowna 3, Penticton 1.

-Despite an opening goal from Roberts Naudins in the 1st period, the Vees fell 3-1 to the Rockets, as the teams split their home and home set. A.J. Reyelts put a solid effort in goal for Penticton, making 35 saves in the loss.

Penticton gears up for some home cooking this weekend, hosting Vancouver on Friday at 7pm, and then the Tri-City Americans on Saturday at 6, both games at the SOEC. See ya all there!
