Vees back in win column

The Penticton Vees ended a 7 game losing streak by posting a pair of wins in Alberta over the weekend.

FRIDAY – Penticton 4, Red Deer 2.

-For the Vees to end their winless skid at 7, they would need a good start against the Rebels…and they got that on Friday, leading 3-0 midway thru the 2nd period, and hanging on for a 4-2 win. Gavin Katz, Boomer DeMars, Noel Pakarinen and Kash Alger-East all found the back of the next for Penticton. Goaltender Kaenan Smith was the 1st star and made 31 saves in helping the Vees end this slump.

SUNDAY – Penticton 4, Edmonton 1.

-Another big start for Penticton in Edmonton, as the Vees held a 2-0 lead after the 1st period, and coasted to a 4-1 win, to earn their 2nd straight victory in Alberta. Tyler Deakos paced the way for Penticton with a goal and 2 assists. Noel Pakarinen, Kash Alger-East and Boomer DeMars rounded out the Vees scoring, while Kaenan Smith picked up another win in the Penticton net.

-Vees have the week off before gearing up for the Tri-City Americans this Friday for the Halloween Game at the SOEC.
