Out-of-control wildfire burns east of Summerland

The BC Wildfire Service is responding to an out-of-control wildfire east of Summerland, B.C.

The wildfire, near Lower Barge Lake, was discovered Monday afternoon and is estimated at 1.1 hectares.

The suspected cause is lightning and no area restrictions have been issued, according to the BC Wildfire Service.

Three initial attack crews and three helicopters are responding to the wildfire, the agency said.
