Residents of Summerland Seniors Village are returning home after being evacuated because of the Bald Range wildfire.
Interior Health said residents were temporarily relocated to alternative sites on Aug. 8 because of risks associated with the fire.
The health authority said it worked with West Coast Senior Housing Management, families, caregivers and community partners to support the residents’ return.
Interior Health said the repatriation of Summerland Seniors Village residents was expected to be completed Monday.
The Bald Range wildfire also affected other Interior Health facilities in Summerland. Recovery and deep-cleaning work remains underway at Dr. Andrew Pavillion and the Summerland Community Health Centre after both sustained significant smoke damage.
Interior Health said it will provide further updates on the return of residents to Dr. Andrew Pavillion and the anticipated opening of the Summerland Health and Wellness Centre.
