Vees In P.G. Hoping for Bounce Back!

The Penticton Vees are looking to bounce back in their 2nd round series with the Prince George Cougars after a pair of losses on home ice to start the series.

FRIDAY – Prince George 4, Penticton 1.

-A pair of goals late and early did in the Vees in game one of their round 2 series against Prince George. The Cougars had a 1-0 1st period lead but added a power play goal with just 13 seconds remaining in period 2 to double their lead. A 3rd goal was added just 43 seconds into the 3rd period. Noah Milford broke the shutout bid for Cougar netminder Joshua Ravensbergen with just over a minute remaining. Despite the loss, Penticton still out-shot Prince George 35-20.

SATURDAY – Prince George 6, Penticton 2.

-Another tough start for the Vees, as P.G. scored a pair of shorthanded goals just 12 seconds apart, and that paced the Cougars to a 6-2 victory and 2-0 series lead. Louis Wehmann and Brady Birnie scored in the 3rd period for the Vees, who once again carried a lot of the play, despite a 4 goal loss, and outshot P.G. 42-25.

Games 3 and 4 of the series resume tonight and tomorrow in Prince George with a 7pm puck drop for both games, and heard on Summit 800 in Penticton, and 98.5 in Summerland.
