Vees Off To Round 3!

The Penticton Vees won 4 straight to take out the Prince George Cougars in their second round series, and move into the league’s semi-finals as they will now face the Everett Silvertips!

FRIDAY – Penticton 1, Prince George 0.

-Brittan Alstead scored the only goal of the game right at the end of a 1st period power play midway thru the period, and that stood up as the winner as the Vees took the series lead for the 1st time. A.J. Reyelts was outstanding through the game, and stopped all 25 shots he faced for the shut-out. It was an amazing atmosphere at the SOEC with a sell-out crowd of 5,112 cheering on the Vees to victory!

SUNDAY – Penticton 3, Prince George 2 (OT).

-The Vees booked their ticket to the semi-finals after a come-back win in P.G. to take the series 4 games to 2. Down 2-0 after the 2nd period, Penticton battled back as they have done all season to force the game into overtime! Diego Johnson and Doogan Pederson, each with their 1st goals of the playoffs, scored in period 3 to send it to overtime, and then the drama from star Jacob Kvasnicka. His 7th goal of the post-season just over 2 minutes into the extra frame gave the Vees the series win!

Penticton will now face the top-ranked Everett Silvertips, which promises to be another superb series. Games 1 and 2 will be on the road, and expected to start this Thursday in the States.
