Oliver ER temporarily closing

Interior Health (IH) says the emergency department at South Okanagan General Hospital in Oliver will be closed starting at 5 p.m. and wont re-open until 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026.
IH says during the closure patients can access emergency care at Penticton Regional Hospital.
People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care (i.e., chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding) are being told to  always call 911 for transport to the nearest available facility.
IH also says anyone unsure about needing an emergency room visit can call HealthLink BC at 811 or visit healthlinkbc.ca for non-emergency health information.
