Some residents of Summerland are finally being allowed to return home as the Trout Creek area, east of Highway 97, was downgraded to an Evacuation ALERT.
As of noon today (Aug 14, 2026) the District of Summerland said people can return to their property.
All other properties within the District of Summerland remain on EVACUATION ORDER until further
notice. The State of Local Emergency also remains in effect.

A Boil Water Advisory remains in effect.
The District recommends anyone returning to their property have a full tank of gas for their vehicles and bring a minimum of three days of food and essential supplies.
