Penticton RCMP seek witness following arrest in robbery investigation

A 27-year-old Penticton man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged robbery last month, but police are still searching for a potential witness.

Penticton RCMP said the man was arrested Oct. 2 following an investigation into a Sept. 11 robbery near Main Street and White Avenue West.

He has since been charged with robbery, assault with a weapon and disguise with intent, and remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

Despite the arrest, investigators are still hoping to speak with the driver of a silver Ford Taurus believed to have been in the area at the time of the incident.

Police said the driver may have information that could assist the ongoing investigation.

“This arrest reflects the dedication and persistence of our investigators, who worked diligently to identify and locate the suspect,” said Supt. Beth McAndie, officer in charge of the Penticton South Okanagan Similkameen Regional Detachment.

“I am proud of the work undertaken by our officers. We remain committed to holding offenders accountable and will continue working hard every day to keep our communities safe.”

RCMP thanked the public for responding to an earlier appeal for information on Sept. 26.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could assist investigators is asked to contact Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300 and reference file number 2026-15066.
