An evacuation alert has been issued for Princeton-Summerland Road east of Thirsk Lake due to the Bald Range wildfire, according to the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen.
The alert, issued at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, applies to Princeton-Summerland Road east of Thirsk Lake in electoral areas F and H, according to the regional district.
The regional district advised residents to review their evacuation plans and prepare essential items.
The regional district said the alert is intended to prepare residents to evacuate their properties if necessary. Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible before an evacuation, although changing conditions could result in limited notice.
The regional district said residents should monitor its emergency operations centre website and social media channels for updates.
