Evacuation orders for the Quilpituk Creek wildfire have expanded.
All remaining properties south of the Okanagan Indian Band’s IR 1 and north of Nahun are now under evacuation order.
Local officials said residents under evacuation order should leave immediately for their safety. Residents can confirm whether their properties are affected by using the interactive evacuation map.

Properties in lower Fintry, Valley of the Sun, Ewings Landing and Killiney Beach are also under evacuation order.

The Quilpituk Creek wildfire was discovered late Saturday and had grown to 80 hectares as of 12:08 p.m. Sunday.
Evacuations are underway as the Quilpituk Creek and Bradley Creek wildfires burn north and south of the area. The evacuation route is south on Westside Road. Evacuees are asked to follow the instructions of emergency personnel and traffic control.
Meanwhile, residents from North Fintry to the boundary of Okanagan Indian Band IR 1 remain under evacuation alert.

Central Okanagan Emergency Management urged residents under evacuation alert to remain in place unless officials issue an evacuation order, saying, “…unnecessary travel can contribute to congestion and hinder emergency response operations.”
Westside Road from Nahun to La Casa is restricted to emergency vehicles and those evacuating.
In an update, Central Okanagan Emergency Management said no structures were immediately threatened.
