A person has been arrested and charged in connection with a deadly collision during last summer’s Okanagan Granfondo in Penticton, B.C.
On July 13, 2025, one cyclist died and two others were seriously injured after they were struck by a motor vehicle during the event.
RCMP said Jonathan Crant was arrested Monday, July 20, 2026, in connection with the fatal collision.
As a result of the RCMP investigation, the B.C. Prosecution Service approved one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
“This has been a complex investigation requiring significant investigative efforts to collect, analyze and assess evidence,” said Staff Sergeant Scott Hanry, Penticton RCMP. “Our community was profoundly impacted by this event. Our thoughts remain with all family members and those affected by this tragic incident.”
This investigation remains ongoing.
