Vees One Win From RD. 2

The Penticton Vees split their road games in Seattle the past 2 nights, and are ONE win away from moving into Round 2 of the WHL playoffs.

TUESDAY – Penticton 4 at Seattle 3.

-The Vees rallied from a 2-1 deficit to score 3 straight goals and hang on for a 4-3 win, and take a 3-0 lead in the series. Ethan Weber scored the game winner with just over 5 minutes remaining to give Penticton the stranglehold on the series. Brady Birnie, Jacob Kvasnicka and Ryden Evers scored the other Vees goals in the game 3 win.

WEDNESDAY – Penticton 3 at Seattle 4.

-The Thunderbirds staved off elimination in this tale of 2 games in 1. Seattle had a 4-0 lead midway through the 2nd period, but, the Vees fought back with 3 straight goals, but couldn’t get the equalizer and fell 4-3. Brittan Alstead, Ryden Evers, and Samuel Drancak tallied for Penticton, who fired an incredible 42 shots at the Seattle net in the last 2 periods.

So, a loss on Wednesday means a game 5, and some Easter home cookin’ on Good Friday! Penticton will look to wrap up the series tomorrow night, with the puck drop at 7 from the SOEC. If necessary, a game 6 would be back in Seattle Sunday night at 5.
