Vees Set CHL Record


The Penticton Vees are back at home after a lengthy 6 game road trip, that saw the team add another milestone to their record setting 1st year.

FRIDAY – Vees 3, Prince Albert 2 (Shootout)

-Penticton set the CHL record for most wins by an expansion, 1st year team in the entire Canadian Hockey League after a thrilling shootout win over one of the top teams in the league, in the Prince Albert Raiders. Louis Wehmann scored the only goal of the shootout, in the 6th round to secure the record for the Vees. Matteo Danis, and Captain Nolan Stevenson scored in regulation, as Penticton broke the old mark of 37 expansion wins, set by Longueuil of the Quebec league, way back in 1983!

SATURDAY – Vees 4, Moose Jaw 1

-Penticton wrapped up their record setting road trip with another win, this time 4-1 in Moose Jaw. Brady Birnie led the way for the Vees with a goal and 2 assists. Matteo Danis, Noah Milford and Jacob Kvasnicka rounded out the scoring. Penticton is gearing up for a home and home series with Wenatchee this weekend, starting this Friday night for a home game…puck drop at 7 from the SOEC!
