Vees Weekend Preview

Your Penticton Vees take an 11 game winning streak into this weekend, where they will play a trio of games. First up, some off-ice news:

-The Vees announced they have signed Canadian goaltender Jack Utsunomiya. Drafted this past May, the 15 year old Surrey native is off to a great start with Delta in the CSSHL. He leads the league in save percentage and is 3rd in goals against average, and looks to be a huge part of the Vees’ future.

-Tonight, the Vees host Spokane at 7 at the SOEC for ‘Health Appreciation Night’. Interior Health staff will receive exclusive access to discounted game tickets. And thanks to the generosity of local philanthropist John Pankiw, 100 complimentary tickets have been reserved so healthcare workers can attend as honoured guests.

-No rest for Penticton, as the Vees travel to Kelowna Saturday night, and then back home on Sunday for a 4pm puck drop as the Red Deer Rebels visit. It’s ‘Hockey Day in Penticton’ as all minor hockey players will get in…for free! GO Vees GO!
