Vees Weekend Wrap

Your Penticton Vees picked up 3 out of a possible 4 points against Kamloops this past weekend.

FRIDAY – Vees 7, Blazers 2.

-Penticton avenged a loss in Kamloops the weekend before to blast the Blazers 7-2 on their ‘Teddy Bear Toss’ Night. Ryden Evers scored twice and added an assist, while Jacob Kvasnicka also had a 3 point night, with a goal and 2 helpers for the Vees. Callum Stone, Diego Johnson, Tristan Petersen and Jiri Kamas, with his 1st ever WHL goal, rounded out the Penticton scoring.

SATURDAY – Blazers 2, Vees 1 (Overtime).

-It was ‘Teddy Bear Toss’ Night at the SOEC, and over 3,600 waited ’til the midway point of period 2 before unleashing all the stuffed teddies on the ice for charity! Brooks DeMarrs was the ‘Teddy Bear’ hero scoring that 1st goal. The Blazers hung in the game and eventually tied it late in the 3rd, before Isa Guram scored the game winner just 41 seconds into the extra frame to give Kamloops the road win.

-Vees are back at it tomorrow night with some more home cooking, as they host the Tri-City Americans at 6:35 from the South Okanagan Events Centre.
