Weekend Wrap

Penticton Vees dropped a pair of exciting games this past weekend.

FRIDAY – Vancouver 3, Penticton 2 (Shootout)

-On Friday at the SOEC, the Vees battled back from a 2-0 deficit w/ a pair of goals to force overtime. It was an exciting extra frame as Penticton fired 9 shots at Giant goaltender Kelton Pyne, but he denied all, and Vancouver prevailed in the shootout. Jacob Kvasnicka and Ryden Evers scored the Vee goals.

SATURDAY – Kamloops 7, Penticton 5.

-Vees battled the Blazers for the 1st of 3 straight against Kamloops, but, fell 7-5 in this back-and-forth affair. Ethan Weber, Jacob Kvasnicka, Brooks DeMars, Nolan Stevenson and Brady Birnie all found the back of the net for Penticton, while Ryden Evers added 3 assists.

The 2 teams will meet again for a home and home affair Friday and Saturday.

On another Vees note, congrats to both forward Jacob Kvasnicka, and goalie Andrew Reyelts, as each have been named to the preliminary roster for the U.S. World Junior Team, as the tourney gets underway just after Christmas.
